What We Do:

SNAPPY (Special Needs Activities and Play Provision for York) seeks to maximise the personal development and provide good quality play and recreationl activities for children and young people with special needs in York.

SNAPPY is a voluntary organisation that has been providing York's special needs community with an invaluable service for almost 25 years.  We run several activity schemes and projects throughout the year aimed at children and young people varying in age and ability.

'Senior SNAPPY' is a club for young people between the ages of 15 and 25 who take part in social nights, party nights out and workshops on key life skills.

'Saturday SNAPPY' is a provision for children with special needs aged 5 to 12 and their siblings and provides children with good quality, safe play activities and provides busy parents and carers with much needed respite.

'Saturday Youth Club' is a place where young people aged 13 to 19 can hang out, get involved in lots of exciting projects and activities and develop key life skills in a stimulating yet safe environment.

'Summer Scheme' and 'Easter Scheme' Runs on weekdays during the school holidays for children from 5 to 19 and is a place where children and young people can take part in organised play activities and go on trips out.

For more information about how to enrol on our schemes please feel free to contact the office (see the Contact Us section of our website).
